VITAL Systems DeviceNet Bus Extender / Repeater is used to extend CAN bus length by reproducing CAN packets from one channel to the other. Packets can have Standard (11bits) or Extended (29bits) identifiers. The device is also used for the galvanic isolation of two segments of a CAN network and for creating star or tree topologies. The device also separates a defective segment from the rest of the network so that the remaining network can continue working. After the error is corrected, the segment is automatically switched into the network.
The network architecture allows multiple Bus Extenders to be daisy chained for even longer network lengths. These modules can also be used to create branches of network without the need for the network cable to loop back. The default bus speed is set at 125 Kbps. If your system requires a different bus speed, pls specify in order notes.
CAN Bus Extender default speed is 125 kbps. Higher speeds are also available on request.
