Product descriptions

DeviceNet/CAN networks are limited by the length of the cable. VITAL Systems CAN Router modules remove this limitation by reproducing the CAN packets of one channel to the other. The architecture allows multiple modules to be installed in a system for even longer network lengths. These modules can also be used to create branches of network without the need for the network cable to loop back.

CAN Router is specially suited for Super-I/O based motorized roller conveyor systems. The router keeps the interlock traffic isolated and does not reproduce this traffic from one channel to the other. This feature reduces the network utilization and makes the system more robust.

CAN Router operate at 125 kbps network speed.

Network

The figure below shows a sample configuration of the network. Each segment can go to a maximum of 1000 feet. The devices, for example Super-I/O controllers, should be evenly placed on the network to achieve high reliability.
